About

Sensoru has evolved out of the need of sheep farmers wanting to monitor their water resources. A drought that coincided with the mismanagement of the local water scheme on which farmers have relied since the early 1980s has stretched the resources thin.

The problem with the available technology was that it came at a high price and was normally built to cater to the irrigation market. When it comes to providing water for livestock it relates to household water and subsequently cheaper devices.

Sensoru set out to build and provide such devices to the market that will do the job and fit the end user’s pocket. To reduce the price and overall running cost of such devices we focused on low power consumption. Low power consumption lead us to The Internet of Things (IoT) market, and ultimately that is where we find ourselves at home these days.

What is the Internet of Things(IoT) about?

The Internet of Things refers to a system of internet-connected objects(things), it may be an everyday object that can be retrofitted or manufactured with embedded sensors and then connected to a network which in turn is connected to the internet. These things are then able to send and receive data. The data that is generated can be analysed and acted on.

With the range of IoT devices on the market today we aim to provide our customers with state-of-the-art solutions when it comes to connecting, monitoring, and controlling their assets and operations.

At Sensoru we know how cluttered mobile phones have become with all the different apps for the variety of devices and services that we manage daily from our phones.

We aim to provide our customers with a solution that leaves their phones and lives less cluttered. We do this by integrating as many third-party devices as possible into our dashboard app, along with our range of devices and sensors, such as weather stations, tank level sensors, etc.

We are based in the beautiful Overberg town of Swellendam from where we serve our customers across South Africa and further afield.
